Blue Casket
An evaluation device for Sterilization effectiveness
Blue Casket Helix PCD Test (process challenge device) is used as a daily test for pre-vacuum hospital sterilizers and for bench top steam sterilizers Class B for steam penetration and inert gases.
For a successful sterilization process the sterilizing agent (steam) must contact all surfaces of the goods to be sterilized. Air and non-condensable gases (NCG) must be removed from the inside of hollow devices before they can be sterilized. Hollow devices are more difficult to penetrate and therefore to sterilize than porous loads.
Blue Casket Helix PCD test is designed to be the most difficult device in steam sterilization process--- a test strip is placed inside the Helix PCD module which changes color to indicate whether the sterilization cycle is effective.
It is easy to read and interpret whether the sterilization process is effective through the indicator ink` changing of Helix test strip.
When all the chemical indicating bars change from yellow to dark, it means the sterilization process is effective.
